Gospel Music
Jay is an accomplished singer/guitarist and is available for country gospel concerts. He also sings with his family THE WITHAMS, and performs locally with his classic country music band BATTENKILL COUNTRY. Jay has recorded a number of projects, including his most recent CD Country Gospel.
The Withams
Cal and Jay Witham are a unique father and son Gospel team. Both are ordained ministers of the Gospel and are dedicated to the ministry of the local church. As pastors they realize the importance of doctrinal integrity in every person that stands behind the pulpit (whether preaching or presenting the Gospel in music).
The Withams present the Gospel message with traditional and country style music, accompanying themselves with acoustic guitars. They have received The People’s Choice Award from Branson, MO. and Pioneer Awards from the Cambridge Songwriters Showcase. Also on the program is Cal’s daughter, Cheryl Darlene. The Withams are well known for their family harmony. Cal and Jay will present their personal testimonies during the concert. The testimonies of their salvation experience are as uniquely different as the men themselves and present a sure hope for a large cross section of hearers. Not only are listeners encouraged toward salvation but believers are inspired in Christian living as well.
Jay and Cal are not only accomplished musicians and singers; they are often called upon to preach in revival or evangelistic campaigns or to speak at Bible Conferences.
Rev. Cal Witham is a native of New Hampshire where he pastored churches in Nottingham, Barnstead and New Durham. He also pastored in Somerville, MA for three and a half years. While there, he was president of the Ministerial Association and served on the Board of Directors of Family Services of Greater Boston. He is the founder of the Calvary Baptist Church in Hanson, MA where he pastored for eight years. He was co-founder of the Windham Bible Chapel, Windham, NH. Cal served as pastor of the Feeding Hills Baptist Church in Feeding Hills, MA for four years and The Open Bible Baptist Church in Cambridge, NY from 1987 until his retirement in 2004. He is often referred to as a Pastor’s Pastor.
Before their conversion, Cal and his wife Bonnie were professional entertainers. Together they have successfully raised five children, all of whom love and serve The Lord. They have three daughters, Cheryl, Juanita and Mary Etta, and two sons, Rev. Jay Witham and Dr. Gary Witham.
Rev. Jay Witham has pastored churches in NH, MA, and upstate NY. After many years of successful ministry, Cal and Jay have combined their talents to form a unique father and son Gospel team. Both have recorded several albums, cassette tapes and CDs and have performed on radio and television. They are now available together in concert.
